How to Watermark Multiple PDFs at Once Free Online

When the same watermark has to land on ten contracts, ten invoices or ten draft reports, opening them one by one is a waste of clicks. The free PDF watermark tool on AI PixFix lets you drop up to ten PDFs at once, configure a text or logo watermark a single time, and save ten separately watermarked PDFs in a single pass — in the browser, with nothing uploaded to a server.

Why batch watermarking matters

Most professional documents that get watermarked travel in batches, not as one-off files. A law firm sends out a stack of draft contracts. A studio shares previews of client mockups with a SAMPLE stamp. A finance team marks quarterly statements CONFIDENTIAL before forwarding. A consultant labels every deliverable with a logo and project code. In each case the watermark is identical across all the files; only the document content differs.

Doing this one PDF at a time means re-uploading the same logo, re-typing the same text, re-setting the same opacity and rotation for every file. Batch mode collapses that into one configuration step plus one save step, regardless of how many PDFs are in the queue.

What you can stamp on every PDF

The watermark can be either a text string or an image. The same configuration is applied to every loaded PDF and to every page inside each PDF, with the option to skip individual pages if you want.

  • Text watermark — any string, with 108 Google Fonts and a built-in search, 15 size steps from 12 px to 200 px, full-spectrum hex color picker with eight presets, opacity 5–100%, and rotation between −90° and +90° for the classic diagonal look.
  • Image watermark — upload a logo (PNG, SVG or any raster). Scale 10–300%, opacity 5–100%, rotation between −180° and +180°.
  • Position — four corners or center, with a 0–120 pt margin slider for corner placement.
  • Per-page skip — every page thumbnail has an add/remove toggle, so a cover page or a back-matter sheet can stay unstamped.
  • Live preview — the watermark renders directly on each page thumbnail, and clicking a thumbnail opens a high-resolution preview so you can verify placement before saving.

How to watermark multiple PDFs in your browser, step by step

1

Drop up to 10 PDFs

Open the tool and drag in the PDFs you want stamped, or click to pick them. Page thumbnails for every file appear together in a single grid.

2

Pick text or image watermark

Switch the radio to Text or Image. For text, type the string and pick font, size, color, opacity and rotation. For an image, upload a logo and adjust scale, opacity and rotation.

3

Choose position and margin

Tap one of the five position buttons (four corners or center). For corners, the margin slider sets the offset from the edge in PDF points.

4

Skip pages you do not want stamped

Click the add/remove toggle under any thumbnail to exclude that page from the watermark. The watermark overlay disappears from the preview to confirm.

5

Save the batch

Press Save. Each input PDF becomes its own watermarked output PDF, downloaded with a name like “AI PixFix PDF Watermark 1.pdf”, “… 2.pdf” and so on. No file is merged.

Diagonal CONFIDENTIAL stamp across every page

The most common professional watermark is a single bold word stamped diagonally through the page — CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, COPY, SAMPLE, INTERNAL. To reproduce that look across a whole batch, type the word, pick a bold heavy-weight font (Anton, Alfa Slab One, Bebas Neue, Black Ops One — all in the 108-font picker), set color to a muted grey or red, drop opacity to roughly 40%, set rotation to about −30° and choose centre position. The configuration is now applied identically to every PDF you loaded and to every page of those PDFs.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so every text style preview matches what gets baked into the saved PDFs.

How AI PixFix compares to popular online watermarkers

Batch watermarking is offered by several established online PDF tools, so this is not a feature that lives only on one site. The interesting differences are around sign-up, free-tier caps and where the file is actually processed.

Sejda states on its watermark page that "Free users are limited to a single file per task. Please upgrade to continue processing multiple files at once." The same page lists additional free-tier caps: "Free service for documents up to 200 pages or 50 MB and 3 tasks per hour." In other words, batch is a paid feature on Sejda's free tier, and even single-file processing has an explicit hourly quota.

Smallpdf is cloud-based: its watermark page describes "TLS encryption for all file uploads and downloads." The PDF you send is uploaded, processed on their servers and returned to your browser.

The AI PixFix path is different in three ways: no sign-up is required, there are no page-count or daily-task caps because nothing runs server-side, and the PDFs stay on your device. The tool uses Mozilla's pdf.js for previews and builds each output PDF locally — so the add watermark to PDF workflow stays free regardless of how often you run it.

Skip pages you do not want stamped

Batch mode does not have to mean every-page-mode. Cover sheets, signature pages, back matter or appendix tabs often look better without a CONFIDENTIAL band running through them. Under each page thumbnail there is a small add/remove toggle: a click removes that single page from the stamping plan, and the live preview confirms it by hiding the watermark overlay on that page.

The toggle is per-page across the whole batch, so within the AI PixFix watermark tool you might skip page 1 of every PDF (the title page) while keeping the watermark on every other page. It avoids a second pass and keeps the output consistent.

Tips before you save the batch

Use the click-to-enlarge preview to verify the watermark renders the way you want on at least one page from each PDF — fonts and rotation can look subtly different between A4 and US Letter, especially for long words. If a logo image looks too sharp against the document, drop the opacity below 50%. If a CONFIDENTIAL band is hard to read across busy graphics, raise opacity and pick a heavier font.

When the batch is large, save first, review the downloaded files, and only then send them out. The batch PDF watermark mode is fast, but final review still belongs to a human — especially on documents that travel to clients or regulators.

Frequently asked questions

How many PDFs can I watermark at once?

Up to 10 PDFs per session in the AI PixFix watermark tool. Each file is processed independently and saved as its own watermarked PDF, so the inputs are never merged.

Are there file-size or page-count limits?

No. The tool runs in your browser, so there is no server-side cap on file size, page count or number of operations per hour. Very large PDFs are limited only by your device memory.

Do I need to sign up?

No. The watermark tool is free, with no account, no email and no daily-use cap. Drop the PDFs, set the watermark and save.

Can I use a logo image instead of text?

Yes. Switch to Image watermark and upload a PNG, SVG or other raster image. Adjust scale (10 to 300 percent), opacity and rotation. The same logo is applied across every loaded PDF.

Can I leave certain pages without the watermark?

Yes. Each page thumbnail has an add/remove toggle, so you can skip a cover sheet, a back matter page or any other page you do not want stamped, in any of the loaded PDFs.

Drop up to ten PDFs, set the watermark once, save the batch. No sign-up, no caps, no upload.
